uncertain Futures, Saltspace, Glasgow 2024
The Uncertain Futures project was a residency and group exhibition organised by Glasgow artist run space, Salt Space between 2023 and 2024 to develop relationships between local artists and making spaces. The project looked at what it means to be an artist making in uncertain times.
Four new works were developed from this project while being in residence at Glasgow Ceramic Studio. These explored rock forms which were piled, stacked and placed to evoke cairns, chambered burial sites, holy wells and mining slag heaps. Ceramic tongues, nipples, navels and chain harnesses describe a landscape of queer desire and morning, of grief and ecological precocity.
